I have a lot of quirks. One of them is my obsession with making a great bow. You would not believe how many times I tie and untie bows, trying to make them perfect. Or how I study what I consider to be great bows made by crafters and attempt to dissect what makes them fab.
It's silly, I know, but I'm going to own it. And share a new card with one of my finest bow specimens. :)
Patterned paper: Crate Paper; Ribbon: Michael's; Doily: Wilton; Tag: Elle's Studio; Buttons: Papertrey Ink, Bo Bunny; Staples: Tim Holtz; Corner rounder: Fiskars
My inspiration for this card was a plate of Christmas cookies left out for Santa on Christmas Eve. The great sentiment tag comes from Elle's Studio and the buttons (a/k/a cookies) are a mix from Bo Bunny and Papertrey Ink.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a crafty weekend.
Mindy

Such a cute idea and so well executed. Oh, and a nice bow too! =)

What a cute idea for a card - love it! And I totally share the obsession with bow tying - the other night I needed to make some holiday cards for a friend of mine. It took me NO JOKE 3 hours to tie 20 bows on 20 cards. And lots of wasted gorgeous seam binding...so I get it!!! I never want to give a card to someone with a weird looking floppy bow!!! And your bow turned out gorgeous :)

My secret to a perfect bow...right over left, left over right. it seriously works everytime. first tie the right end over the left, pull tight. Then make half bow in the right and tie the left end over the right. pull tight. adjust as needed. i swear by this technique! :)

Not silly! Actually, you're the first blogger I encountered who talked much about bow tying. It's an art, especially if you use it in your designs. Ever tried those real complicated ones on cards though?
