I have no shame. I bribed these two with candy, balloons, toys and cupcakes in order to take their pictures.
Slowly, but surely, I am learning the tricks of the photography trade. Still a long way to go.

This trip down memory lane was actually inspired by my latest project posted on the Scrap-Mart blog today -- easy-to-make magnets.

I've made a few revelations lately...
1. I watch Nightline and I like it. A lot.
2. I get excited about a good coupon.
3. It really ticks me off when my favorite kind of toothpaste is discontinued.
I'm either really twisted or I'm just getting old.
Speaking of twisted, Candy Shoppe Designs is changing things up a bit. Three new design team members are being announced today! Plus, check out the series of Twisted Wonderland kits CSD is now selling. The White Rabbit kit is currently available for purchase and it's full of some fantastic new things that I know I'd love to have!

Remember chain letters? What a blast from the past. Well, I think the chain letter has reinvented itself in the blogosphere and as a result, my friend Sarah prompted me to play along with this game (which will clearly reveal that I am bizarre AND opinionated).
Ten things that make me happy:1. Travel. I cannot begin to express how much I love exploring new places and soaking in the culture. Or how much I love going back to my favorite spots.
2. Music. I think everyone should have a soundtrack to their life.
3. Spring. Windows rolled down and radio turned up.
4. Scrapbooking. Everything about it. To me it's about so much more than using every picture that I ever took. I'd just use a photo album if that was my goal.
5. Friends. The ones who really know you.
6. Vampire stories and shows. Buffy. True Blood. The Vampire Diaries. It's a long and twisted list. (SIDE BAR: Could the new episode of The Vampire Diaries have been any better last night? I think not!)
7. Tanning beds. I know it's terrible for you, but I discovered a love for them a couple of years ago. I am a seasonal tanner because I think it's fundamentally wrong when you see people with a tan in Kansas in the winter.
8. Farmer's Market. I'm going to make my first trip of the season to the market tomorrow morning. So excited!
9. Frozen drinks. The slushy kind of frozen soda. And, of course, the adult beverage kind.
10. AP Style Book. I love all the rules and think it should be required reading for everyone.
Five pieces of trivia about myself:
1. I've wanted to visit all 50 states since third grade.
2. I hate mayonnaise, buffets and potlucks.
3. Favorite TV show ever -- China Beach. Twin Peaks is a close second.
4. My favorite breakfast is a grilled cheese sandwich.
5. I will never own a body pillow. I think they are beyond weird.
So, next, I'm supposed to tag five people to carry on this fun little game, but I think I'll pick six great ladies -- my fellow design team members from Scrap-Mart!

There's a lot going on at Candy Shoppe Designs this month!
First, a new challenge...using rain or water drops on a project.
I changed things up and made a card for this challenge. To create a water effect coming from the watering can, I used a few of the great new crystal embellishments from Maya Road. I tied the crystals on lengths of baker's twine and then affixed them to the card with Glossy Accents.

I went on a road trip to visit my family and took in the signs of spring -- budding trees and burning fields.
I listened to endless hours of The Vampire Diaries on audiobook while traveling.
I started getting serious about planning my upcoming trip to NYC.

Yesterday it finally seemed like spring was here to stay. Now, if I could just find some cute AND comfortable spring shoes. Why is that such an impossible task?
The arrival of spring also seems to have helped my creativity. I was in a major creative slump, but, thankfully, it seems to be over.

Two quick tips about this card:
1. Punch two of the same shape (butterfly) and put a foam adhesive in between layers to give it dimension.
2. Stamp on the reverse side of your American Crafts cardstock to avoid the texture and get a clean, crisp image.

I made the scalloped border along the bottom by dry embossing a piece of cardstock with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and then punching circles from the cardstock.
