Lately I've been searching for a good book. I've bought several, but haven't loved any.
For example, I feel as though I might possibly be the only person who's not a fan of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. And, Olive Kitteridge didn't do much for me either.
So, as I embarked on a holiday trip last week, I came to the conclusion that I didn't even have one book that interested me enough to take it along. My first order of business was to hit the airport bookstore.
Again, nothing grabbed me, but I settled on The Piano Teacher by Janice Y.K. Lee. And, it turned out to be a happy surprise. Not the best writing ever, but an interesting story about Hong Kong during and after WWII.
Have you read any good books lately? Let me know what I'm missing.
